GAD
Gad was the seventh son of Jacob with Zilpah, a handmaiden of Leah. His name means “troop”.

Having bore four herself, and now her maid another, Leah expected that Gad would be the head of an army that overcome his enemies.

Genesis 30:11 - and Leah said: “A troop comes: and she called his name Gad”.

… which agrees with the prophecy of Jacob

Genesis 49:19 - Gad will be attacked by a band of raiders, but he will attack them at their heels.

He was the one who grew to become the greatest warrior of them all.

The bible is very clear: the battle does not belong to us, but to God!

Like the story of David who declared before his fight with Goliath.

When you turn it over to him, and trust him and fight it his way, it is no longer your battle but his battle! It is his battle and his victory.

Psalm 24:8 - The Lord is mighty warrior in battle and he is with you.

David knew that he could not fight in another man’s armor. He needed an armor of the spirit, certainly, there was a precious stone shining on his armor. He chose five smooth stones from the stream, and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Giant.

Let’s see the mosaic blessing:

Deuteronomy 33:20 - About Gad he said: “Blessed is he who enlarges Gad's domain! Gad lives there like a lion, tearing at arm or head”.

The Gadites were the best warriors.

1 Chronicles 12:8 - Some Gadites defected to David at his stronghold in the wilderness. They were brave warriors, ready for battle and able to handle the shield and spear. Their faces were the faces of lions, and they were as swift as gazelles in the mountains.

The writer of Ecclesiastes says that there is "A time for war and a time for peace"

The bible contains many examples of God using armies and war as his tool for justice against evil nations.

Deuteronomy 3:22 - Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your God himself will fight for you.

Exodus 15:3 - The LORD is a man of war; The LORD is his name

Yes, we can and will win! Inside us, there is a wining nature, the Lord trusts in our capacity and determination to do so.

We need to be part of this army
